02 | Before the hunger strike got underway, members of the Sinti minority laid wreathes at the Dachau memorial to commemorate those who had been murdered there (4 April 1980). The survivors of the genocide demonstratively wore their old concentration camp uniforms. In the white coat in the first row is the chairman of the Association of German Sinti and spokesman for the strikers, Romani Rose.
