02 | The burial of 13-year-old Rom Dusan Jovanovic in Belgrade on 21 October 1997. The young boy had been kicked to death by Serb skinheads three days previously. More than 5,000 people attended the funeral and then marched in silence through the city centre of Belgrade to protest against the reign of terror by far-right gangs. Roma associations and human rights organisations had called for the demonstration.
